A Next Step

So, it’s that time again. When we are forced to take a step closer to adulthood. For me, it’s a small city in Washington, US known as Seattle. It’s only one of the biggest tech hub in the US.

Well, let’s track back. I haven’t been really active in a while because I was busy. Taylor’s really gave me a run for my money. But this break before pursuing my dream has motivated me to have a go at updating my blog. So, to the 3 people who actually care, let me do a little recap. I left things off at scholarship interviews. Long story short, I managed to get my hands on a YTM Scholarship that brought me to Taylor’s University in Subang Jaya where I will be doing my pre-university program before flying to my designated country. Speaking about countries, I was initially requested to fly to Alberta, Canada but instead got a chance to go to Washington, US. How?, Well that a story for another time.

So, let’s not stray away from the topic. Taylor’s. It was great. I did my American Degree Program which was held for a year( two semesters). Made lots of great friends and incredible memories. The first semester was a pain in the butt. On top of actually “adapting” or “fitting in”, we actually had a lot on our hands. We were introduced to the SATs, an American Exam of some sort that is compulsory for any student that wants to study in the States. People, more specifically Americans, have trained and waited their whole lives for this exam, like SPM for Malaysians. We, however, only got 3 months. 3 months to achieve flying colors, 3 months to get into our dream universities. Well, maybe I am over-exaggerating but it sure did feel like that during a period of time. Looking back, being an over-achiever, it was a really difficult moment for me but hey, I made it. So, besides SATs, what else did we had to do. Well, let me just summarise what would be a paragraph into a couple of lines for you to get the overall picture.

August - SAT and TOEFL Prep
Sept - TOEFL Exam
Oct- SAT Exam
Nov- SAT II Exam
      - Start applying for unis
Dec- ADP Finals / SAT Exam (2nd Try)
- Finish applying for unis

Well, that Sem 1 in a nutshell.

Sem 2, honestly, for me, was a walk in the park Not trying to be cocky, but there wasn’t really anything that challenging. Sure Calculus II was a little mind-boggling but it was very bearable. Maybe it was just the subjects that I took but there were lots of time for fun😏.

Well here I am, I have managed to recap my whole journey from where I left off. Now, I have just completed my ADP and am awaiting the next step as I wrote in the beginning. To sum it all up, I had fun. I met individuals, who I clicked with instantly, you know who you are. As usual, ask any questions below. I will answer it when I am using this blog again. Anyways take care and I will see you at the next one. ✌️
